The Student Senate acts as the Legislative Branch of the Purchase Student Government Association. The Student Senate is charged with several functions that are critical to the continuing success of the PSGA. The Senate is comprised of senators that are elected each fall. These representatives are elected to serve the campus community and to foster and promote student life of Purchase. The Senate works closely with the College’s administration to ensure that every student’s needs are met on issues ranging from housing and parking to dining and athletics. You can always turn to the Senate with any concerns or questions that you are unable to resolve.

The Senate also includes various smaller committees on which its members further serve he student body. Each and every committee strives to maintain the PSGA’s effectiveness throughout the year while also ensuring that the Senate properly represents the students that it serves to outside bodies.

If you are at all interested in becoming a PSGA Senator and representing your living or academic area we strongly encourage you to take the steps towards running for a position on the Senate. This is a great way to get involved on campus and Senators, in particular, have the satisfaction of being major contributors to Purchase College and benefit from valuable leadership experience they have during their time in office.

This spring, Senate meetings will be held every Wednesday at 12:15pm at Southside in Campus Center South. All meetings are opened to the public and students are encouraged to attend!
