Overview

Alongside the Purchase Student Government Association are the advisory and financial components of our student government, as established in the following SUNY guidelines: SUNY Policies on Student Activity Fee Programs – Mandatory, Fiscal and Accounting Procedures for

The PSGA Advisors ensure that actions taken by the PSGA are in compliance with federal and state laws and policies, and the Business Manager works with the Coordinator of Finance to ensure that all financial paperwork is compliant with 501(c)3 non-profit regulations, and to facilitate the PSGA’s annual audit over the summer.


Rebecca Snyder-Halligan
Signatory Authority

Rebecca received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Music (vocal performance) at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where she received her M.Ed. in Higher Education. Her professional interests include leadership development and women in higher education. Rebecca serves as advisor to the Executive Board of the PSGA.



Brittany Mayes
PSGA Advisor

Brittany Mayes received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from SUNY Purchase in 2012. Originally from Lindenhurst, NY, Brittany quickly got involved with the PSGA as a Senator her freshman year. She served with distinction as Chair of Senate from September 2009 to May 2011. She served as PSGA President from May 2011 until her graduation in May 2012. Brittany serves as the advisor of the Senate and individually advises both the Chair of Senate and Coordinator of Clubs, Organizations, and Services.


Jason Alt
Director of Student Life & Community Partnerships; Chief Diversity Officer

Jason Alt is the Director of Student Life & Community Partnerships, as such, he oversees the Office of Student Life and is chief advisor to the PSGA. He provides individualized attention to the Judicial Board, the President and the Coordinator of Public Affairs. He teaches Purchase College’s course on Fundamentals of Leadership. He lives on campus with his wife and daughter; and is committed to unlocking the potential of Purchase College students. He is also Purchase College’s Chief Diversity Officer, and makes it his priority to combat prejudice wherever it arises.


Judith Otero
Business Manager

Judith received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Investments at Baruch College in New York and her Masters in Business Administration at Regis University, Denver, CO. Prior to Purchase College, Judith had a wide-ranging experience in Higher Education holding several positions for the City University of New York (CUNY) such as Budget Analyst at Lehman College, Budget Manager at Hostos Community College, and Office Manager at Baruch College. As PSGA’s Business Manager, Judith manages the accounting, finance, and payroll functions of the 501c3 Corporation of the Purchase College Student Government as well as serves as mentor to PSGA clubs and services on related business matters.
